A while back, I wrote a summary for Atomic Habits by James Clear and published it online.
Summarizing the book’s key ideas helped me remember and retain what I read.
Plus, I got a lot of emails from readers telling me how much they benefited from my summary… so I continued with other nonfiction books I read.
Since then, I’ve summarized more than 130 of the best nonfiction books of all time across a wide range of disciplines and interests.
From business to leadership, personal development to psychology… I’ve boiled each book down to its most important ideas and insights.
And because I write my book summaries in Notion, the popular note-taking app… I can quickly review my notes, at home or on the move… in a matter of seconds.
For instance, if I’m trying to build a new habit, I can review my notes for Atomic Habits by James Clear… and follow his Four Laws of Behavior Change.
Or, let’s say I’m writing a copy (like I am for the page you’re reading). Before publishing, I can ensure I’ve covered all my bases by reviewing Dan Kennedy’s Copywriting Checklist from his book, The Ultimate Sales Letter.
Building a Notion Second Brain has changed my life in ways I could never have imagined.
It’s helped me profit from my knowledge, grow my income, and enjoy a more fulfilling family life.
And that’s why, for the first time, I want to invite you to enjoy this resource, too.
So Many Books, So Little Time
I think you’ll agree with me when I say that… having more and better information gives you a tremendous advantage over those who don’t.
For instance,
- Learning the art of persuasion helps you negotiate a higher salary
- Studying personal finance enables you to grow wealth faster and reduce mistakes
- Learning how to communicate better enables you to enjoy longer, more fulfilling relationships
Learning is, without a doubt, the foundation for achieving everything you want in life.
But in today’s distraction economy, few people have the time to read.
And those who do rarely write and organize their notes in a way they can retrieve later.
Maybe that’s you.
Maybe, like many people, you don’t have time to read. Or, perhaps you do, but you don’t have time to record and recall your biggest learnings.
If that’s you, I want to introduce you to…
Sam’s Second Brain: The #1 Resource for Nonfiction Book Summaries (and More)
Sam’s Second Brain is my private Notion database for top nonfiction book summaries, carefully curated book recommendations, critical learnings from online articles, and much more.
More than 400 readers use Sam’s Second Brain to get fresh book recommendations… revise the big ideas from top nonfiction books… and gain the knowledge they need to move forward in life faster.
Let me give you a preview of what you can expect.
Here’s What’s Inside…
Book Ratings for Better Recommendations
Readers often ask me, “What book(s) do you most recommend?” To answer that question, I’ve added a five-star rating system to help you browse each of my 130+ summaries by rating.
Brief Summaries for Skim Readers
On top of adding a 5-star rating, I’ve also written a brief one-sentence summary for each book. Open a summary of interest and skim the one-sentence overview to ensure you only read summaries worth your time.
Pre-Saved Views for Top Recommendations
I want to save you as much time as possible. That’s why I’ve added several pre-saved lists for top recommendations. Click one of the drop-down options I’ve made, choose a view such as “The Top 0.1%…” and browse all summaries, articles, and podcasts assigned that rating.
Knowledge Trees for Deeper Learning
Like a particular author or topic? Click an author’s page to view all books by that author. Or, open a summary of interest and browse all its backlinks to see similar ideas mentioned in other books. Indeed, the rabbit hole goes deep…
Linked Databases for Faster Navigation
I built Sam’s Second Brain using what Notion calls “linked databases.” In other words, a summary tagged as, for instance, “Writing” and “Memoir” will now show for both lists on the homepage.
I’ve also added sub-categories to give each book more context (e.g., “Personal Development” > Habit Change”), linked to each book on Amazon… and much, much more.
And, of course, there are also detailed notes from top training courses… my favorite exercises from my favorite books… my practical takeaways from online articles, and more.
Everything’s here, in one resource, waiting for you. I’ve done the heavy lifting. If you have a problem,
- Search for a book;
- Review my brief but concise notes;
- Take action, as described in the page;
- And overcome whatever issue you’re having.
It works for me, and it will work for you, too.
How Much Does Sam’s Second Brain Cost?
If you were to buy all the books from my library, you would pay between $1,000 and $ 1,500. (Depending on their format and where you bought them.)
Furthermore, if you were to invest in all the online courses I’ve bought, you would pay upwards of $20,000. (For example, the average online marketing course retails at $1,997.)
(Of course, that’s not including the hundreds of hours you would need to read the books… watch the videos… attend the events… and write up your notes.)
Heck, even if you were to subscribe to a paid book summary service… you would pay between $59.99 and $99.99 a year, depending on your chosen package.
Today, though, for a limited time, I’m offering lifetime access to Sam’s Second Brain for only $197 $97.
In life and work, we’re often only one book away from achieving our most significant goal.
To paraphrase author Shane Parrish… books allow us to master the best of what others have already figured out.
I’m having a blast learning from the best in the world. I hope you will join me.
